The series field covers the dates the series ran, when adding a title you need to check what 'Series' to place your issue in.
If a series does not exist for the comic you are submitting you can click on the blue 'Add a new series' button to the right.
Marvel and DC numbering can jump all over the place in some cases but we have endeavoured to keep the recognised series dates for you to choose from.
It is also a good idea to put the number of the series in brackets in the title field
Example:
Captain America (1st Series) would have 1968 - 1996 in the series field
