What more could you want from an origin story. For me it ticks every box. I love reading this series and like the alien vamps i need more.

The pacing and dialogue makes the writing style feel really forced. It's possible I'm simply not the target audience but it feels like it's aiming for that fine line of cheesy anti-hero a-la Dante in Devil may cry but misses the mark and overdoes it (like the writing in DMC 2-4!). It's just trying so hard and to my mind this kind of character/anti-hero only works when it hits total effortlessness
