Blue flame led me to this

Having read The Blue Flame by Rees, I looked forward to seeing this reinvented version of his earlier comic. Rees did not dissapoint

And Now For Something Completely Different...

*attempt at not giving away in play here*Out of my usual genre, but I wasn't dissapointed at all. The High Priestess comes to us via the strange realm of the mind of Rees Finlay. This semi-autobiographical work really shows the power of uniqueness, also touches upon the impact of standing out. Finlay got this across incredibly well & I think this would appeal to multi-genre readers. A tale told with intensity & respect.

A solid remake

Compared to the 2015 original this is a huge improvement. Certainly raises more questions than it answers but hopefully all will make sense in future editions

Out of adversity comes opportunity

Knowing the tough journey of the author and illustrator makes reading the remake even more poignant. The artwork is alive and captures the new life and passion if the authir here in the pages if High Priestess. The story carries excitement, drama, intrugue and a desire to ask questions we hope will be answered in the next chapters. There is a maturity here and morals we can all heed.

Cathartic read

For those who have battled with their own inner voice, High Priestess proves to be a cathartic release. Rees writes in such a way that releases strong emotions without feeling like you are reading something dark and his art converts a serious topic into a fun comic. Looking forward to part 2.
