Collector Notes:

Comic book series that ran for 109 issues from 1950 through to 1968.

With the decline of super-hero titles in the early 1950's National Periodical Publications began licensing the right to use film stars for new titles. As well as Bob Hope there were Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis and Alan Ladd. For most of the title run each issue would have a main story featuring Bob Hope and then a movie-related back-up story. Issue #1, for example, had a story on Rhonda Fleming, who co-starred with Hope in a 1949 film, The Great Lover.

Sales began to decline in the mid-60s and even the introduction of a more contemporary teen character called Super Hip in issue #95 could not stop the cancellation of the title with #109.
